Trans pregnancy talk in Lausanne: 17 April

I am honoured to be speaking at the University of Lausanne next week, at an event hosted by the Center for Gender Studies. If you happen to be reading this in Switzerland, it would be lovely to see you there!

I’ll be providing a broad overview of findings from across the Trans Pregnancy Project. My aim is to analyse the moral panic over trans inclusion in perinatal care in the context of the vast amount of evidence in favour of gender-affirming approaches. This is also part of a series of talks I am doing this year reflecting back on the project more broadly as we publish the last of our findings.

More information on the event can be found on the University of Lausanne website.

  1. Hi Ruth

I hope this finds you well.

I attended the online presentation today and I found it immensely interesting and useful. I had publicised it on our LGBT+ network at LSHTM, where I work and saw a few of our members had also attended.

Although I am not an academic myself, as a long time activist in the community I thought it was such important work that has been done by the project. In the current climate, it is definitely needed, knowledge is power I think is the phrase.

Do you know if the presentation will be available online for later viewing? I feel a number of the academics where I work both in our network and beyond would find it of great interest

Oh, in case my name rings a bell you would have known my later partner Denise from our group Spectrum London a number of years ago.

    many thanks

    Mikey Gardiner

    xx
